Lucky Little 500 Fan to take home Signed Helmet

(Anderson, Ind.) As the 60th running of the Pay Less Little 500 unfolds this Saturday night at Anderson Speedway, more than the winning driver will go home happy at night’s end.

One lucky fan will take home a beautiful new Bell racing helmet, autographed by every driver in the Little 500 field.

The promotion is a fundraiser for the Little 500 Hall of Fame, which celebrates their 19th Induction Luncheon on Saturday afternoon at the track. This year’s induction class includes Clarence Miller, Carl Reynolds, Walt Straber, Denny Adams, Ken de la Bastide, and Eric Gordon.

The autographed helmet tradition dates back several years, and has become a prominent attraction in the hours leading up to the race. During the pre-race driver’s meeting, typically held around 4 p.m. on Saturday, each of the 33 drivers will take a moment to autograph the helmet.

Two Bell helmets are actually signed, with one to be raffled and one held by the Hall of Fame for their collection of Little 500 memorabilia.

Raffle tickets, sold for just $1 each or six for $5, are available at a display table located just inside the main entrance at the track. The table is open from Wednesday afternoon until approximately 7 p.m. on the night of the race.

During pre-race ceremonies, typically around 7:30 p.m., the winning raffle ticket will be drawn at the start-finish line, and the lucky fan will be presented with their prize.

The Little 500 Hall of Fame is a non-profit organization, formed with the intent of preserving and promoting the history of this great event. The organization is supported this year by Hoosier Tire, Bell Helmets, Anderson Speedway, Pay Less Super Markets, the Little 500 Festival Committee, and Big Joe’s Event Catering.
