All Stars Return to "The Track That Action Built"

Fremont Speedway CAMARGO, IL (5-20-08) – The O’Reilly All Star Circuit of Champions is preparing to make a return to Fremont Speedway in Fremont, Ohio this Saturday, May 24th. Many of the drivers on the All Star tour got their start on the 1/3 mile clay oval located inside the Sandusky County Fairgrounds in Northwest Ohio. All Star legends Frankie Kerr, Rick Ferkel, Al Liskai, and Jim Linder called Fremont home over the years.

Four time All Star champion Chad Kemenah got his start at Fremont Speedway as well. Current defending two time All Star Champion Greg Wilson, two time All Star Champion Dale Blaney, Brock Mayes, and Brandon Martin have been turning laps at Fremont for several years with great success.

All Star drivers such as Randy Hannagan, Brian Ellenberger, Paul McMahan, and Brian Paulus have visited Fremont on several occasions over the years and always look forward to taking on the weekly regulars to battle for the $5000 winner's share of the purse.

Tough Ohio locals such as Mike Linder, John Ivy, Paul Weaver, Byron Reed, and Mark Keegan can give any traveling series fits when they invade Fremont and they will try to steal the All Star loot this weekend. Reed nearly took home the All Star win when the series visited Attica Raceway Park in April, but an o-ring in the fuel line cost him a shot at victory.

Lance Dewease, who won the Attica event, will make his first visit to the tight bullring as he rolls into town with the season points lead in his back pocket. One thing is certain; the All Stars have always put on an exciting show at Fremont Speedway and this will be no exception as new track promoters Andy James and Rich Farmer have been experimenting with the track surface to make it racy and fast. The first three weeks of local competition have seen the track take on a notably different characteristic than in years past – the track is wet and tacky.

Look for the track record to be in jeopardy this Saturday night. The All Star series was off this past weekend, but the All Star drivers didn’t take a break. Friday night at Attica Raceway Park, Brock Mayes finished 2nd and Dale Blaney was 3rd behind winner Paul Weaver. Greg Wilson took the opportunity to tune up at Fremont Speedway on Saturday as he picked up the victory. Tim Hunter won the 410 sprint feature at Lakeville Speedway as well.
