CHATTANOOGA, TN -January 23, 2009- Calls are coming in from all over the South as race teams make alternate plans to come race the unsanctioned $5,000-to-WIN Super Late Model dirt race Saturday afternoon at the Chattanooga, Tennessee area race track.
The BOYD's BLAST kicks off the 2009 season this Saturday afternoon, with the touted BIGGEST RACE EVER, in the tracks history. Gates are opening early Jan. 24th as racers from around the region will converge on the newly refurbished dirt track.
MID-NITE OIL RACING FUEL the events sponsor will be giving away free gas cards to fans and drums of racing fuel to competitors as long as the sport the proper decals during all four (4) of the racing divisions in competition Saturday.
Weather is always a factor in racing events, but even much so... states Gar Dickson, track General Manager. "We're getting all sorts of calls, with the recent postponement of another event and want everyone to know their welcome to come compete at our race."
Super Late Models will contest under O'SAS/Lucal Oil/SRRS series' rules for motors and weight. Spec motors are 2200 lbs. with a 12" spoiler ...and as always, mufflers are required for all classes.
Calls are pouring into the track phone, and a second info. line is now available thru the tracks PR Director (Steve Hixson) at (423)314-6652.
Admission prices the event are $15, kids age 7 to 12 is $5 (6 & under are free) in the grandstands and $30 in the pits. Gates open 12PM EST, drivers meeting 2:30PM EST.
