| Wednesday, January 31, 2007 | | VAN WORMER TO DEBUT A RAYBURN IN FLORIDA, PRE-SALE AVAILABLE FOR WORLD 100 DIECASTS | From Delph Communications
PINCONNING, MI -January 30, 2007- Jeep Van Wormer and the Iron Motorsports team will debut a pair of new C.J. Rayburn-built racecars during "Speedweeks 2007" at the East Bay (FL) Raceway Park and the Volusia (FL) Speedway Park. The decision to get the new Rayburn cars was made earlier in the month by the team, but they still have their MasterSbilt chassis from last season. Jeep plans to run both makes of cars throughout the racing season, but will run the Rayburns exclusively during "Speedweeks."
After picking up the new cars this week from Whiteland, Indiana, Jeep and the #55 team will head south to the East Bay Raceway Park in Gibsonton, Florida to compete in six Dirt Late Model events from February 5-10. The Lucas Oil Late Model Dirt Series will sanction all of the exciting, wheel-to-wheel racing action at the Tampa area venue. Three $5,000 to win shows will highlight the first three nights at the "Clay by the Bay," while the final three events will pay $7,000, $10,000, and $12,000 to win respectively. You can listen to all of the action each night from East Bay online at www.racetalklive.com or visit www.eastbayracewaypark.com and www.lucasdirt.com for more information.
The Pinconning, Michigan native will cap off his version of "Speedweeks 2007" at the Volusia Speedway Park in Barberville, Florida. The Daytona Beach area oval will host six nights of Dirt Late Model racing action from February 12-17. Three $5,000 to win shows and a trio of $10,000 to win events highlight the week at VSP. Both UMP Dirtcar Racing and the 360 OTC World of Outlaws Late Model Series will sanction events during the week at Volusia. More information on these events can be found online at www.volusiaspeedwaypark.com and www.woolms.com .
"I am excited to try the new Rayburn cars down south over the next couple of weeks," exclaimed Van Wormer tonight via telephone. "I am optimistic about the cars, as they have proven themselves time and time again at tracks all over the country. It has been a few years since I have been down to East Bay and Volusia, so I am also excited about racing in Florida again. Hopefully, we can get a good handle on the Rayburn cars and have a successful trip down south!"
The Iron Motorsports team would also like to announce that they are now accepting pre-sale orders for their upcoming 2006 'World 100' diecast car. The purple, chrome, and black car, which Jeep drove to a rousing third place finish in the annual event, will be replicated by ADC and a limited edition should be ready for distribution in early-mid July. The 1:24 scale cars will be sold for $125.00 each in July, but they are available for a special pre-sale price of $110.00 each right now.
