Redneck Racing Series Causing a Ruckus at a Track Near You In ‘07

By Matt Kentfield

CONCORD, NC -January 27, 2007- The Redneck Racing Series invaded the Carolinas in 2006 with a rumble and a force that had never been seen before in short track racing. The “Street Stocks on Steroids” series hit numerous tracks in North and South Carolina with impressive car counts and left each track having built a big fan base and even more interest in the series for the upcoming season.

Already, the response from competitors and fans alike has been pouring into series headquarters, and the Redneck Racing Series is proud to announce that they will not only be back in 2007, but the series will continue to grow to new tracks, creating a more diverse schedule for these beasts on wheels.

“We want to be able to gather everyone in a central location and have an open discussion about what the 2007 season is shaping up and what we can do different to make it even an better year than we had during the series’ first year in 2006,” said Matt Kentfield, who serves as the Redneck Racing Series PR Director. “All of our drivers are guys and girls that have full-time jobs and who go home at night and work on their racecars. So by having an informational meeting later in the evening, we hope to get them all to come out and let us know what they think. We are going to use this as an open forum for everyone to voice their likes and dislikes about the series.”

To prepare for the upcoming season, racers interested in learning about the Redneck Racing season, as well as all 2006 RRS competitors, are encouraged to attend the series’ organizational meeting, held on January 31st at 8pm at Quaker Steak and Lube restaurant on Speedway Boulevard (7731 Gateway Lane NW) in Concord, NC. The meeting will be a chance for current and potential racers to discuss the schedule, rules and the great racing that are sure to ensue during the 2007 season. Series officials will be on hand to answer any questions that drivers may have about the cars, the tracks and more. Regional track owners are also invited to attend to discuss potential Redneck Racing Series dates with series organizers, as well.

The Redneck Racing Series, sometimes called “Street Stocks on Steroids,” was an offshoot of the CRASHCar Division that was created by the Lowe’s Motor Speedway officials. The series was created to give those with cars more opportunities to race their machines on a number of different tracks.

The Redneck Racing Series put on one of its most memorable races of the 2006 season at the half-mile Concord Motorsport Park, and the series will have even more opportunities to shine at that historic tri-oval in 2007. Six RRS events have already been scheduled at Concord for the series’ sophomore season. In addition, the Redneck Racing Series will be making its debut at several of the region’s most prestigious short tracks, including Carolina Speedway in South Carolina and East Lincoln Speedway in North Carolina. The series will kick off its 2007 season along side the PASS South Super Late Model Series in the Easter Bunny 150 event at Hickory Motor Speedway on April 7th.

Even more dates for the 2007 Redneck Racing Series will be released soon. For more information on the Redneck Racing Series, contact Matt Kentfield by calling (704) 455–2051 and visit the Redneck Racing Series online at www.redneckracingseries.com.
