| Thursday, January 25, 2007 | | All Star Outlaw Late Models Got People Talking at Birmingham Racers Auction and Trade Show | HUNTSVILLE, AL—The much awaited debut of something different on the asphalt short track of the southeast got a preview this past weekend as two of the newly formed All Star Outlaw Late Models were in attendance at the Annual Birmingham Racers Auction & Trade Show this past weekend. Cars on display were the car that will be driven by Gary Nix of Adamsville, AL., and the cars of Chris Benson of Monroe, MI., Both drivers has their cars on display and by the crowds that gathered around the cars for the weekend the All American Racing Series may be on to something different in the southeast with these sleek looking.
Gary Nix long time competitor around the southeast said, “This is what short track asphalt racing needs. “A body package that is affordable and that a working man can put on in his shop and he has everything he needs right there in his shop, aluminum, motor parts and a straight rail chassis and he is ready to get into the racing business.” said Nix. “This deal will work in the south if the guys be patient with it and give it time to develop, up north this is becoming a big series and it can do the same down here.” Benson shared the same thoughts as to what this type racing will lead to, “It is what we decided to do and it very affordable compared to trying to keep the super late model bodies going with these prices sky high, this body can be put on for around $1,000 and you can do it yourself.” The All Star Outlaw Late Model Series would like to thanks Will Blocksome and Gary Nix and Chris and Ray Benson for their efforts on bringing their cars to the trade in Birmingham and we look forward to seeing them compete with the series in 2007.
