SOUTHERN ALL STARS EAST TO KICK OFF 2007 AT GOLDEN ISLES' SUPER BOWL OF RACING III

WAYNESVILLE, GA -January 17, 2007- The Southern All Stars East Series will open the 2007 racing season with a pair of events at the newly renovated Golden Isles Speedway in Waynesville, GA. The races will headline the program of the first two of the scheduled four nights of Golden Isles' Super Bowl of Racing III. The final two nights will feature the O'Reilly Southern All Stars Racing Series racing for a total purse of well over $75,000.

The Lloyds along with Daryl Courson and the entire GIS staff have been hard at work over the winter months continuing to improve the coastal Georgia facility. Competitors and fans will arrive to find a reconfigured turn three and four as well as over one hundred and seventy-five loads of fresh clay added to the half mile oval surface.

There is also a brand new VIP section in the main grand stands. Fans and teams can tune into to the tracks brand new FM transmitter on their FM radio or receiver and hear the voice of GIS Terry Caton and "The Wizard of Oz" Ozzie Altman call all the action. The frequency will be announced as soon as the new equipment installation is completed.

Many regional and national drivers are expected to be in action. Some drivers expected to be in competition are defending SAS-East Champion Dennis Franklin, Series Rookie of the Year Brent Dixon, Doug Sanders, Phillip Seifert, Chris Madden, Mark Vineyard, Ray Cook, Tim McCreadie, Shane Clanton, Earl Pearson, Scott Bloomquist, Ken Schrader, Steve Francis and many others.

The Southern All Star East Series will utilize a Hoosier 1300, 1600 or SPEC 11 and 55 tire rule for the first two nights of competition while the final two nights will require Hoosier Tires of any compound. Gates are scheduled to open at 3:00 PM EST with hot laps scheduled for 5:00 PM EST.
