World of Outlaws Saturday Night Chili Bowl Report

Tulsa, OK -January 14, 2007- The 21st Annual Chili Bowl Midget Nationals wrapped up on Saturday at the Tulsa Expo Center as World of Outlaws drivers, team owners, and officials all took to the track for an intense afternoon and evening of racing.

In his first trip to the Chili Bowl as a driver Jason Martin, finished the weekend a very respectable 17th in the 50-lap A-Feature. The native of Liberal, Kansas began the day on Saturday by winning the first 20-lap B-Main leading wire-to-wire. On Friday, Martin turned in an equally impressive effort, winning a Qualifying race that featured eventual Chili Bowl Winner and World of Outlaws team owner, Tony Stewart.

Terry McCarl in his first trip to the event raced his way to a 10th place finish in the second B-Main on Saturday. The native of Altoona , Iowa finished 10th in the A-Feature on Friday night in his first start in a midget.

Danny Lasoski, the 2001 World of Outlaws Champion finished 16th in the second B-Main on Saturday. The native of Dover , Missouri raced his way to a 10th place finish in the A-Feature on Wednesday night.

Sammy Swindell, a three time World of Outlaws Champion wound up 14th in the second C- Main on Saturday night. The native of Germantown , Tenn. , raced his way into the A-Feature on Wednesday during the first of three qualifying nights.

Randy Hannagan suffered engine problems on Saturday and came home eighth in the first D-Main. Hannagan a native of San Jose , who now calls Pittsboro , Indiana home, was making his second career appearance at the event.

Jason Sides came home 13th in the second D-Main. The 2003 World of Outlaws Kevin Gobrecht Rookie of the Year Award winner raced his way into the B-Main on Wednesday night in the first of three Qualifying nights.

Daryn Pittman was eighth in the second F- Main after getting mired in traffic. The native of Owasso , Oklahoma was making his first appearance in the event since 2001.

Justin Henderson finished seventh in the first G-Main. The native of Sioux Falls , South Dakota was competing at the event for the second straight year.

Tony Bruce Jr. came home sixth in the second G-Main on Saturday. The native of Liberal, Kansas will contend this season for the Kevin Gobrecht Rookie of the Year Award with the World of Outlaws.

Shane Carson, the Vice President of Race Operations for the World of Outlaws finished second in the second I-Main to advance to the second H-Main, where he finished 16th. The native of Yukon , Oklahoma was recently named as an inductee into the 2007 National Sprint Car Hall of Fame.

Brian Carter, the Chief Financial Officer for DIRT MotorSports finished third in the first K-Main to advance to the first J-Main where he finished 16th, in his first visit to the Chili Bowl.

Reigning 360 OTC World of Outlaws Late Model Series Champion and Chili Bowl winner Tim McCreadie used a past champion’s provisional and started the 50-lap A-Feature on Saturday night in the 25th position. When the checkered flag flew he had sliced his way through the field for a very impressive eighth-place finish.

Also in action was fellow 360 OTC World of Outlaws Late Model Series driver Josh Richards, who came home 10th in the first G-Main.

The 2007 World of Outlaws season opens on February 9 at Volusia Speedway Park with the 36th Annual DIRTcar Nationals Presented by Mopar Speed Shop.
