| Friday, December 15, 2006 | | | It's Time to go Racing Indoors at the Mason-Dixon/Dixieland Challenge II Inside the DeVos Place | LEXINGTON, Mich - December 14, 2006- The ASA Late Model Series Presented by GM Performance Parts crews, drivers, fans, officials, and teams are now on the road and heading out to the Westside of the ASALMS home state of Michigan for a historic weekend of racing.
The cars and stars of the ASALMS will take part in two complete shows over the weekend indoors at the 162,000 square foot DeVos (MI) Place in Grand Rapids, Michigan. The site for the first ever ASALMS sanctioned indoors events; The Mason-Dixon/Dixieland Challenge II on Saturday and Sunday December 16-17, 2006.
The DeVos Place will feature a true indoor 1/4 mile concrete oval inside the huge downtown Grand Rapids building beginning on Friday December 15, 2006. The ASALMS will join in on the festivities on Saturday and Sunday December 16-17, 2006 with two complete shows of Qualifying and each night will be highlighted by a 50-lap Feature.
Both 50-lap Features will pay $3000 to win and if one driver can sweep the weekend, they'll pick up a bonus $1000 for a $7000 weekend! The ASALMS portion of the weekend will be ASALMS sanctioned/non-points events. By merely starting both 50-lap Features, teams will leave Grand Rapids with a minimum of $600 as both features will be $300 just to start.
Joining the ASALMS during the weekend in Grand Rapids, Michigan will be Outlaw Bodied Pavement Super Late Models as well as UMP Dirt Super Late Models, UMP Dirt Modifieds, Sportsmen, and a Run What You Brung Division.
Note: All schedules and time lines are subject to change at the discretion of the Mason-Dixon/Dixieland Challenge and DeVos Place Officials with regards to car counts in all divisions and unforeseen circumstances. Please be patient and keep close to the ASALMS Tech Trailer for any changes in the order of events, procedural and/or time line changes.
