York, PA -December 22, 2005- World of Outlaws Stacker2 Late Model Series driver Rick Eckert, of York, Pennsylvania, has recently hooked up with midget car owner Mike Miller to once again enter the prestigious ‘O’Reilly Chili Bowl Midget Nationals.’ The wildly popular midget event will be held on January 11-14, 2006 at the Tulsa Expo Raceway in Tulsa, Oklahoma. There are already 270 entrants slated to compete in the indoor event, which surpasses the race record of 249 set last season.
It is uncertain at this time which car number will adorn Rick’s midget car out in Tulsa from January 11-14. Mike Miller Racing, of Reading, Pennsylvania, has entered several Stealth chassis for the event with sponsorship coming from Ray’s Yamaha, Don Ott Racing Engines, and ARDC Midgets. More information will become available after the busy holiday season.
Rick joins fellow Dirt Late Model drivers Tim McCreadie, Bart Hartman, Steve Francis, Josh Richards, and Jeep Van Wormer in announcing their intent on competing in the 20th Annual ‘O’Reilly Chili Bowl Midget Nationals.’ The action will kick off with three straight nights of qualifying features set for January 11-13. Last Chance events and the ever-popular ‘Chili Bowl’ A-Main will then take place on Saturday evening, January 14. All four nights of racing action will be webcast live at www.racinboys.com.
Tracey Hines won his first ever ‘Chili Bowl’ last season and the winner’s list of the annual event is a virtual “who’s who” of open wheel racing. Those who have captured A-Main wins in the ‘Chili Bowl’ include: Sammy Swindell (1998, 1996, 1992 and 1989), Cory Kruseman (2004 and 2000), Dan Boorse (2003 and 1999), Tracy Hines (2005), Tony Stewart (2002), Jay Drake (2001), Billy Boat (1997), Donnie Beechler (1995), Andy Hillenburg (1994), Dave Blaney (1993), Lealand McSpadden (1991), Jon Heydenreich (1990), Scott Hatton (1988), and Rich Vogler (1987).
“It is an honor to get the chance again to compete in the Chili Bowl and I am really excited,” stated Eckert recently. “It is always a good time out there and the racing action is pretty wild. I have to thank Mike Miller, Ray’s Yamaha, and everyone who was instrumental in putting this deal together for us. I will have some great equipment underneath me, so hopefully I can perform at a high level out there.”
