Norman, OK -December 21, 2005- World of Outlaws Late Model Series officials have released a tentative schedule for the upcoming 2006 racing season and the quest for the Championship. The tentative schedule finds the band of throttle-stomping travelers visiting twenty-two different race tracks in a twelve state area for twenty-eight currently booked events. Several remaining dates on the schedule are being negotiated and will be added to the 2006 WoO Late Model Series schedule as warranted.
“Putting the schedule together has been a challenge but there is a good mix of different racing facility’s for the race teams,” said Dean Miracle, World of Outlaws Late Model Series Competition Director. “All of the dates we have currently scheduled are being held at top notch race tracks. That will give the race teams a good challenge and give the fans great shows. There are still some holes we need to fill on the schedule. We are talking with other tracks about the available dates. Once those dates are filled we will add them to the schedule.”
The drive for the 2006 World of Outlaws Late Model Series Championship begins February 4th at Golden Isles Speedway in Waynesville,GA before heading to Volusia Speedway Park in Barberville,FL for separate shows February 16th and February 18th.
After a long break in the schedule the Series will return to action April 7th at Lernerville Speedway in Sarver,PA followed by a return to Bill Sawyer’s Virginia Motor Speedway in Saluda,VA April 8th. After taking the Easter week-end off the WoO Late Model Series will make a first-time ever appearance at East Alabama Motor Speedway in Phenix City,AL April 21st and April 22nd.
The month of May will open at Brushcreek Motorsports Complex in Peebles,OH May 12th. Kamp Motor Speedway in Boswell,IN welcomes the Series for a first ever appearance scheduled for May 13th. Ten days later, Bolivar Speedway in Bolivar,MO does the same with a first time visit May 23rd. The string of first time ever host tracks continues May 31st when the WoO Late Model Series invades the North Central Speedway in Brainerd,MN.
Deer Creek Speedway in Spring Valley,MN welcomes the Series June 1st (raindate June 2nd) for the first of two scheduled 2006 D.S.C. visits. June 3rd (raindate June 4th) marks a first time ever stop by the World of Outlaws Late Model Series to Shawano Speedway in Shawano,WI. Western Kentucky Speedway in Madisonville,KY hosts the June 16th date before the traveling to Brownstown Speedway in Brownstown,IN for a June 17th event, both first time ever appearances.
Next on the schedule will be a June 30th return engagement at Lernerville Speedway before making a return visit to Stateline Speedway in Busti,NY July 1st followed by the a first time ever appearance at Cayuga County Fair Speedway in Weedsport,NY July 2nd. Sharon Speedway in Hartford,OH returns to the 2006 schedule with a July 8th (raindate July 9th) event.
The World of Outlaws Late Model Series then stops at Jim Nier’s KC Raceway in Chillicothe,OH for a two-day event slated for July 21st and July 22nd. It’s then off to Lebanon I-44 Speedway in Lebanon,MO July 25th before traveling back to Deer Creek Speedway in Spring Valley,MN July 28th and July 29th.
Lernerville Speedway starts off the month of August with an August 4th date followed by an August 5th appearance at Hagerstown Speedway in Hagerstown,MD. The WoO Late Model Series then makes a first time ever visit to Lake Ozark Speedway in Eldon,MO August 15th before returning to Western Kentucky Speedway August 25th.
Tri-City Speedway in Franklin,PA will host the World of Outlaws Late Model Series September 2nd and September 3rd. The 2006 campaign is schedule to conclude October 13th and 14th at Volusia Speedway Park in Barberville,FL.
