| Monday, November 28, 2005 | | | Madden Perseveres to Win 2005 OSAS Championship | Gray Court, SC – Chris Madden showed his mettle in winning the 2005 O’Reilly Southern All Star Racing Series National Championship. After enduring a midseason team change and being forced to foot his own racing bill, the Gray Court, South Carolina driver went on to rack up five series wins with eighteen top fives and twenty top tens. Madden also amassed four poles in his twenty-five events entered.
Madden moved from the Hamrick’s Motorsports owned entry in mid-season to a ride which he and some of his earlier career sponsors financed. Madden garnered three wins after changing rides. Madden also won series races in three different chassis brands during 2005. Madden piloted a Bloomquist Chassis, a GRT and a Barry Wright Race Car to respective wins. Madden also utilized engines from Cornett Race Engines and Clements Race Engines during the 2005 season.
Madden commented that the support he received through his championship campaign was unyielding. Madden attributes much of his success to primary sponsor Brian Morabito who’s Xtreme Customs and Cycles and Century Plastics have adorned Madden’s cars all year long. Also atop Madden’s list of supporters is Hall of Fame car builder Barry Wright. Other team members who have been apart of Madden’s title run include crew chief Cotton Owens, Jeff Satterfield, Donnie Madden, Shane Worley, Scott Barnett, Donnie Crowder and Madden’s fiancé Stephanie.
Madden also received sponsor support from Crowder Logging, Town and Country Packing, Banks Brokerage, Clements Race Engines, Hoosier Race Tires, VP Race Fuels, CV Products, Simpson, Eibach Springs, Ohlins Shocks, Wa-Don Bert, Quarter Master, Weld Wheels, Peterson Fluid Systems, Phase II Sign Supply, Delph Communications and Wells Racing Photography.
