FAYETTEVILLE, NC - November 19, 2005- Carolina Clash Super Late Model Series Promotor Larry Lee announced this week that the 2006 Carolina Clash Series will kick off with a two day event on February 3 and 4 at the Historic NASCAR sanctioned half mile dirt oval at Oglethorpe Speedway Park in Savannah, GA.
This will be the first visit ever for the seventh year series at OSP and both shows will be 50 lap events paying $5,000 to win. Lee said of these shows, "They will be non-points Clash Races, but Clash drivers entering these events can earn a wild card spot during our 2006 Clash regular season."
The 2006 Clash Regular season opener will be Saturday April 1 at New 311 Speedway in Madison, NC.
Clash Series all-time winner and two-time champion Ricky Weeks will try and make it three Clash titles in a row in 2006 in the Henderson Motorsports entry.
Lee announced that the Championship Modified Tour will be on this program February 3 and 4 with $1,000 to the winners of both 25 lap battles at OSP. Both races will be 2006 points races for the tour. Below will be your Schedule for the three day event at OSP.
The February 2 action will be a practice for all cars racing at OSP this weekend from 6:30 til 9:30 pm. February 3&4 Pit Gates will open at 3 pm and Grandstand Gates will open at 5:30 pm.
OSP Promotor Ted Austad comments on the Clash making first stop ever at OSP "We wanted to have the Clash Series last year, but things did not work out and a lot of fans in the region wants to see Clash Series running at OSP along with the Championship Modified Tour Guys."
Race fans will get to see the 2nd Annual Coca-Cola Young Guns Shoot-Out presented by Stock Car Racing and Circle Track Magazines. All drivers entering this event will be ages 23 and younger. It will be a great three days for all three divisions, look for top drivers to be in the hot racing action and race fans will enjoy all the shows at Oglethorpe Speedway Park February 2, 3 and 4, 2006.
