Cleveland Next Mega-Event: Joe Lee Johnson & Gobbler Weekend

The Cleveland (TN) Speedway has announced the details for the next "Mega-Event" planned for the Joe Lee Johnson / Gobbler weekend scheduled for November 18th and 19th 2005.

On Friday night (Nov. 18th) the B.J. Parker: Southern Thunder Series headlines the "Joe Lee Johnson Race" with a 40 lap Dirt Super Late Model feature memorializing the late Joe lee Johnson whom lost his battle with cancer earlier this year, which pays $2,700 to win.

On Friday nights undercard the along with the $1,000 to win Cleveland Speedway Motor Dash, and the $50 a lap, lap money extra's the "A" and "B" Hobby will race a pair of $500 feature races. The Cleveland Speedway Front Wheel Drive division will also square off for $500 to win race.

Then on Saturday night (Nov. 19th) the EXTRAVAGANZA that is the "Gobbler" will take place as the O'Reilly Southern All-Stars Series invades for the 77 lap feature (signifying Joe Lee Johnson's NASCAR race number) that pays $5,000 to win. The 17th edition of the "Gobbler" is expected to again draw a large number of raceteams from around the country, which is the reason for the expansion to a two day "Mega-Event" format.

The undercard for Saturday night's portion of the event is the UMP Open Wheel Modifieds which pays $750 to win, the Cleveland Speedway's Steel Head (Limited) Late Model feature paying $750 to win and a $500 to win, Pony Stock division feature race. A limited number of Reserve Seats for the top three rows at Cleveland Speedway are available.
