The open wheel modified division will be titled the “Southeast Motorsports Modified Division” at Golden Isles Speedway in 2006.
“We are really excited to be a part of Golden Isles Speedway in 2006. Frankie Lloyd is doing a tremendous job with the facility and he is giving the racers a great opportunity here in the South GA and North FL area a place to compete for really good purse money”, stated Timmy Carter, owner of Southeast Motorsports.
“With the huge success we had with our modified Shark Chassis last year we wanted to give something back to the racers and give additional incentives to racers who compete at Golden Isles Speedway in 2006. By offering a new Shark Chassis to the track champion and increased purse monies for the modified division, we hope racers who were looking to move up into the modified division from other classes will be inclined to do it even more now with this sponsorship”, Carter went on to say.
Chuck Cumby driving a Shark Chassis by Southeast Motorsports won the 2005 track championship in the open wheel modified division at Golden Isles Speedway. Chuck had 2 wins, seven 2nd place finishes and 14 top 5 finishes in 2005 at Golden Isles Speedway.
