| Fayetteville to host Carolina Clash Grand Finale | By Larry Long
FAYETTEVILLE, N.C. -- Fayetteville Motor Speedway (FMS) will host the two day Carolina Clash Series Grand Finale on Friday October 28 with a $4,000 to win showdown and then Saturday October 29 it a $5,000 check for the winner. The $1,000 bonus for this weekend will go to any driver that can collect both wins on the clay oval.
This will be the 18th & 19th all- time Carolina Clash Series shows at Fayetteville Motor Speedway and will be the fifth and sixth shows for this season. Jeff Smith of Kings Mountain has collect a pair of wins and Clash points leader and defending champion Ricky Weeks has one victory at FMS as does Gary Mabe currently third in the Clash points chase this year.
Past Carolina Clash Super Late Model Series winners since 2000 includes Ray Tucker with five wins, Earl Pearson Jr. with three wins. 2001 Clash champion Ed Gibbons has posted two wins along with Jeff Smith.
Drivers with one win each in Clash action includes 2002 Clash Champion Scott Autry, Weeks and Mabe along with Hank Edwards and Chuck Finch. Who'll add their names to this list of Clash Winners at FMS??
Weeks enters the Clash Series two day deal holding a 65 points lead over David Smith in the battle for The Clash Cup Championship and David Dick is holding a 28 point edge over Clint Elkins in the Clash Rookie of The Year battle. These Carolina Clash titles will be decided this weekend at FMS. Can one driver take the Carolina Clash checkers back to back? Pit gates open at 3 pm both days with the grandstands set to open at 4 pm. Clash Promotor Larry Lee is looking for a strong field of Super Late Model cars and some of the South's top stars and cars for the Carolina Clash finale. Don't miss it race fans it will be a great weekend of Clash Series racing with the Big Bucks up for grabs along with Two Clash Titles.
