CHARLOTTE, N.C. -October 22, 2005- The IMCA Sunoco Modified driver winning the late October special at The Dirt Track at Lowe's Motor Speedway will earn $1,500, along with an international title and an automatic berth on the ballot for the 2006 Lucas Oil All-Star Invitational.
The World Short-Track Championships are Friday and Saturday, Oct. 28-29 at the 4/10 mile clay speedplant. All heat races will be run on opening night, with last chance races and the feature Saturday.
Main event qualifiers collect a minimum of $150. Pit gates open at 5 p.m. and racing starts at 7:30 p.m. both days. A $500 bonus will be paid to the highest finishing pre-entered driver.
Carolina Racing Supply will award a $500 product certificate to the hard charger in the feature. Once the starting field is set, the two drivers on the front row will also be given the option to start in back and can earn what would be an addi-tional $1,000 product certificate by winning the main event.
Admission for both nights is $25 for adults and $10 for kids 12 and under. Pit passes, also good Friday and Satur-day, are $35. Entry to the pit area is limited to those 14 years and older.
