PUNTA GORDA, Fla. - With the start of Florida's rainy season, Charlotte County Speedway has a perfect welcome - a Great American Boat Race. It will take place this Saturday night, June 12, at the Punta Gorda 3/8-mile paved oval. Cars race against each other with trailers and boats in tow. It makes for a wild ride.
Also highlighting the June 12 schedule will be a 30-lapper for Road Warriors paying $300 to the winner.
Other divisions include Sportsman, Super Stocks, Thunder Trucks, 4 Cylinders and TQ Midgets. The Open Wheel Modified race originally scheduled for June 12 has been cancelled.
There will be a bicycle race for children and kids can ride around the track on a School Bus Figure 8 race bus.
The front gates open at 4 p.m. Racing will begin at 7 p.m. Admission is $15 for adults, $13 for senior citizens and $5 for children ages 6-11. Charlotte County Speedway is located off Exit 161 of I-75 on Piper Road in Punta Gorda.
