ASA Lowers Ticket Prices Due To Economy

ASA LOWERS TICKET PRICES FOR EVEN MORE AFFORDABLE FAMILY FUN

PENDLETON, Ind. (February 5, 2004) -- No, that is not a misprint, though it is hard to believe that the price to see a live race can actually go down. In this case, ticket prices for five American Speed Association National Tour racing events have been lowered for the 2004 season.

"We recognize that the economy has been tough for the past couple of years, and even though there has been a recent upswing many families are still being pinched. We want to ensure that parents and children and their friends can all have a fun day together at the races and are thrilled to announce that we have been able to lower the price of our tickets from what was charged last year," said ASA's Mark Gundrum.

Adult general admission tickets are priced at $18 in advance, $23 at the gate. Kids, age 10 and under, will be admitted for just a $5 admission price. These prices will apply to the following races:
Saturday, March 27 at USA International Speedway in Lakeland, Fla.
Saturday, May 1 at Lanier Speedway in Braselton, Ga.

For groups of 10 or more, ticket prices are lowered to $15 each at these two events.

Exceptions to these prices are those events in which there is a companion race on the same day, such as the ASA Late Model Series. At these events, adult tickets will be charged just $5 more, but children's admission prices remain $5 at these events as well.

The three races on the schedule with companion events and advance ticket prices of $23 (or $28 for same-day sales) are:
Saturday, May 29 at Lake Erie Speedway in Erie, Pa.
Saturday, June 5 at Mansfield Motorsports Speedway in Mansfield, Ohio Saturday, July 31 at Indianapolis Raceway Park in Clermont, IN.

Group sales are available at these companion events as well, and for those purchasing a minimum of 10 tickets the value gets better as the prices are only $18 each.

"We have consistently held our ticket prices at a point where they are extremely competitive in the sports entertainment realm," said Gundrum, ASA executive vice-president of sales/marketing. "As our costs have risen, we haven't simply passed them along to the fans. It's important to recognize this and show our competitors and fans that we value their loyalty."

For additional information, or to purchase tickets, please contact the ASA Ticket Line, toll free at 1-888-ASA-1020. Ticket prices for the events not shown above will be set by the host facilities.

The American Speed Association is based in Pendleton, Ind., and has offered stock car racing programs since 1968, including the ASA National Tour, ASA Late Model Series and ASA Member Track programs. For additional information, visit asaracing.com.
