| Thursday, December 18, 2003 | | | ASA and Berlin Raceway Revitalize Agreement | PENDLETON, Ind. (December 18, 2003) -- ASA officials and members from Berlin Raceway announced today that the June 12 event at the facility has returned to the schedule.
"We are delighted that ASA and Berlin Raceway have come to a mutual agreement to have the event at this fine facility" said Joe Balash, ASA vice-president, race operations. "We were able to resolve our holdups and come to an agreement that everyone can walk away from happy. This is always one of the most popular tracks on the schedule for both the fans and the competitors, and we look forward to coming back this season."
Berlin Raceway, located in Marne, Mich., will host both the ASA National Tour and the ASA Late Model Series. This exciting, action-packed day of racing will be highlighted by the 300-lap ASA National Tour event, televised on SPEED Channel. As an added bonus for the fans, the ASA Late Model Series will hold a 100-lap, green flag shootout.
ASA has had a long relationship with the track. The first of the 38 races held by ASA at the facility took place back in 1981. The list of race and pole winners includes such notables as Johnny Benson Jr., Mark Martin, Dick Trickle, Butch Miller and defending 2003 ASA National Champion Kevin Cywinski.
