| Wednesday, December 3, 2003 | | | Gray and Adams among short list of drivers nominated for NSCHOF 360 Sprint Car "DOY" Award | Indianapolis, Ind. - 2003 USCS National champion Terry Gray form Bartlett, Tennessee and 2003 USCS "Asphalt Thunder" Tour champion, Kenny Adams from Malabar, Florida have both been nominated for the coveted National Sprint Car Hall of Fame's 360 winged sprint car "Driver of the Year" award. Only five drivers from across the Nation made the final ballot. The two USCS nominees both posted impressive records inside and outside of USCS competition with 45 wins on the season between them. The versatile duo are the only drivers on the ballot that displayed their talent both dirt and paved surfaces.
Adams won 27 times including 19 times in the USCS with wins on both dirt and asphalt ovals. Gray who captured his tenth National touring series title this season was the 2003 USCS Dirt Series champion. He won 10 USCS main events plus he had 8 wins outside USCS www.uscsracing.com competition and won the coveted $5,000 Airflow Research Super Power Dash at Volusia Speedway Park on October 19th. Adams' team the Donn Goodson/Goodson Farms race team has also been nominated for 360 sprint car team of the year.
The NSCHOF 360 "Driver of the Year" and other awards will be announced at the annual NSCHOF banquet at the Westin Hotel, Indianapolis on Thursday evening, December 4th at 6 p.m. just after the close of the PRI trade show Have an opinion on this story?
