| Monday, November 17, 2003 | | | Hard Working Texan, Chase Taylor tops USCS Rookie National Standings | Atlanta, GA. - Eighteen year old high school senior, Chase Taylor from Montgomery, Texas will receive the much deserved 2003 United Sprint Car Series National Championship "Top Rookie" award for his efforts this season with the traveling USCS "Outlaw Thunder" Tour (www.uscsracing.com) . Taylor accumulated the most points of any rookie driver that participated with the series in his white number 40 m J and J Racing sprint car and finished in eighth place in the USCS National point standings. Taylor also topped the USCS "Asphalt Thunder" paved track series rookie standings where he also finished in eighth position out of 60 drivers that raced with the pavement series. Taylor who earned the longest tow award to most events, traveled many times over a thousand miles to race with the series and showed tremendous dedication and talent . The young driver who works with his Dad, former racer Joe Taylor, in his engine shop, did much of his car setup and preperation work and then driving the long hours to make the shows.
USCS President, Pete Walton said, "Chase is one of, if not "the", hardest working person his age I have seen in a long time and his tremendous determination and desire will take him to the top. We really expect him to be a top competitor in the series in years to come. He could really use some additionalsponsorship help to see him acheive his goals. If anyone is looking for a great young person to latch onto and put a few dollars behind they will be proud to work with this young man.
Finishing behind Taylor in the runnerup spot for the award were Shawn Stafford from Gainesville, Georgia who also made the USCS National top ten in tenth place and Jimmy Taylor from Green Pond, South Carolina who finished 15th Nationally and finished in third place in the National rookie title chase. Chase Taylor and the balance of the USCS drivers will receive their honors at the USCS Champions Awards Luncheon at Noon on Saturday, November 22nd at the Special Events Center in Newnan, Georgia.
