2004 USCS "Outlaw Thunder" Tour - season opener at Volusia on Feb. 3rd - 4th

Barberville, FL - The 2004 United Sprint Car Series "Outlaw Thunder" Tour will open on Tuesday night, February 3rd at Volusia Speedway Park's famed half mile near Daytona Beach in Barbeville during the Volusia Speedway Park's February 2004 "Race Weeks" activities. The series which features some of the World's top 360 winged sprint car drivers will run a full sprint car racing program at Dick Murphy's facility on Tuesday evening with the A-main event paying $2000 to the winner and then return on Wednesday night, February the 4th, for another full program with the A - main paying $3000 to win.

The USCS www.uscsracing.com last raced at Volusia Speedway Park on October 18th and 19th. Each of the October main events were won by Kenny Adams from Malabar, Florida. The 2003 USCS National champion, Terry Gray from Bartlett, Tennessee won the 10 car / 10lap and $5000 to win Airflow Research Cylinder Heads sponsored USCS "Super Power Dash" on the same weekend. Both of these drivers have been nominated for the 2003 National 360 sprint car "Driver of the Year" by the National Sprint Car Hall of Fame pollsters. Both of the past USCS Champions are expected to see action at Volusia in February along with other top drivers from the field that raced with the series in October that included, Indy Car racer Jimmy Kite from Stockbridge, Georgia. Also expected to defend state pride are 2003 East Bay Raceway King of 360 Winternationals champion, Sport Allen from Largo, Florida, 2003 East Bay Raceway champion, Johnny Gilbertson, from Dover, Florida and high school hot-shoe, 18 year old, Danny "Hammer" Martin, Jr. from Sarasota, Florida. A host of top drivers from across the Nation is expected to be assembled for three action packed weeks of 360 and 410 cubic inch sprint racing at Volusia Speedway Park and across the state at East Bay Raceway Park in Tampa.
