Terry Gray pockets $5000 Airflow Research Super Power Dash at Volusia

Barberville, FL - The "Bartlett Bullet" (or "Bandit" which ever you chose) Terry Gray from Bartlett, Tennessee fought off Kenny Adams and then Jim Raptis for the win in Sunday night's ten lap Airflow Research "Super Power Dash" ten car star studded super shootout at historic Volusia Speedway Park.
Gray started his familiar black Goodson Farms, Inc./ Wendy's #10 on the pole and for the first lap, it looked easy. Then the "Malabar Missle" Kenny Adams from Malabar, Florida passed Gray's front row companion "Rapid Jimmy" Raptis from Marietta, Georgia on lap one in turns three and four. Raptis appeared to have chosen too loose of a set up for the rich sprint to the checkers.

Adams driving the Goodson Farms, Inc./ Putnam County Speedway #4A Shaw Racing car, charged forward under Raptis and right up behind Gray. This lasted until lap three when, he got too high coming off the same turn four and Raptis blew back by him in his red ERI #77
with his setup now apparently working.

Raptis who was about four car lengths back at the time, started to close on Gray and by lap five was close enough to pull his right front wheel even with Gray's left rear and show Gray his nose with Adams right behind him trying to regain the second spot. Raptis challenged Gray until the last lap for the win and as the duo approached a car they would both lap that was having a handling issue, Gray got the slight break he needed to hold onto the lead and the win landing himself in victory lane $5000 dollars richer thanks to Airflow Research the "Official" SPEC cylinder head supplier of the United Sprint Car Series.

Raptis finished just two car lenghths back with Adams tailing and relentlessly pressuring him to the stripe. "Rockin" Randy Helton from Palmetto, Georgia who captured several AFR Dash qualifiers during the season, finished in fourth. USCS newcomer seventeen year old, Danny "Hammer" Martin, Jr. from Sarasota, Florida, made an exciting "Banzai" move on lap one to move himself from an eighth place starting position into the top five where he finished.

Jeremy "The Jet" Scott, from Franklin, Georgia charged from tenth to a sixth place finish. Chris Hill from Wedowee, Alabama who earned his way into the "Super" event with several great AFR Power Dash qualifier runs recently followed in seventh. Sport Allen fom Largo, Florida and Brice Wrenn fom Lexington, South Carolina who earned their way into the rear of the field via open invitation on Saturday night followed in eighth and ninth and Aubrey Black from Lookout Mountain, Georgia completed the finishing order for the prestigious event.

Associate sponsors for the Airflow Research Super Power Dash are American Racer Tires and Jimmy Smith Racing Tires, Pro Shocks, Schoenfekd Headers, Huggins Cams, Robison Racing Products, Gotta Race Apparel and Arizona Sport Shirts who all awarded products for the winner.

Airflow Research Cylinder Heads is a major supplier of Auminum street and race cylinder heads located in Pacoima, California.
