USCS Thunder Valley Speedway event goes to Kenny Adams

Lawndale, NC - Kenny Adams from Malabar, Florida, driving the #4 Goodson Farms/ Got Milk/ Putnam County Speedway /Coca Cola/ Don Ott powered sprint Shaw Chassis car picked up his eleventh USCS ( www.uscsracing.com ) win of the season at Thunder Valley Speedway in Lawndale, North Carolina on Friday night. Adams jumped from his outside front row starting position to lead all 30 laps while putting on a tremendous exhibition of rim riding and daring for the fans that saw him use every inch of the beautifully prepared, dust free, red clay 4/10 mile oval.

Adams said after the event, "Thunder Valley is one of the best racing surfaces I've ever raced on and it was just fun to race here tonight. The car was nice and my crew did a great job. I was worried about Terry after he kicked our tail in the heat race , and I kept looking for him in the main but I guess we just got a jump in the clean air and had some fun here. This is a real nice place to race sprint cars and I definitely want to come back."

Adams' paycheck for the series first visit to Thunder Valley was worth $2500. The amount included a $500 Goodson Farms, Inc. bonus to the feature winner. Adams victory came over a field that included drivers from eight states. Terry Gray from Bartlett, Tennessee finished in the runner up spot, followed by quickly rising USCS star, Jeremy Scott from Franklin, Georgia who was using Randy Helton's back up motor and drove the entire 30 laps without power steering. Strollin' Roland Johnson from Zephyrhills, Florida , had an outstanding run to finish fourth. The fifth place finisher was the evening's Huggins Cams "Hardcharger" award recipient , Scott Young from Mooresville, North Carolina who started last in the field after being involved in an accident on lap one of his heat race.

Jim Raptis from Marietta, Georgia, who trials Gray for the National points lead finished sixth. USCS regular "Racin' Randy" Helton from Palmetto, Georgia followed in seventh, rookie driver Kelly Glass from Kingsport, Tennessee finished in eighth place. Jerry Jones from Clermont, Florida was ninth and USCS rookie driver Jimmy Taylor from Green Pond, South Carolina rounded out the top ten.

Helton won the Airflow Research cylinder heads "Super Power Dash" qualifier. Heat races were won by Gray and Jeremy Scott. The event's Hart Racing USCS top rookie went to Kelly Glass. The KSE Racing Products Outstanding Driving Performance award went to Scott for his determination.

Tonight the series moves on to famed Dixie Speedway in Woodstock, Georgia for the "Dixie Outlaw Nationals".Next Friday night (August 8th) the USCS drivers changes surfaces again for a visit to the high banked 1/4 mile paved oval at Huntsville Speedway in Huntsville, Alabama and move over Saturday night to the 3/8 mile paved Senoia Speedway in Senoia, Georgia .
