17 year-old Sprint Car Racer Conquers the Daytona of Dirt Tracks

On June 21 17 year-old 2003 Winter National Young Gun Champion Hammer Martin hit another home run with a Heat win at East Alabama Motor Speedway. The track is known nationally as the Daytona of Dirt Track Racing.

Driving the DUIFla.com, LLC Martin Structures, Inc. 360 Sprint Car, Danny "Hammer" Martin from Sarasota, Florida, won the evening's third heat race.

Prior to Saturday, Hammer had never seen the track, much less turned a lap on the three-eighths mile clay high-banked oval track.

Edging out Hammer for the feature win were cagey Veterans Kenny Adams and defending Champion Terry Gray.
