| Lake Erie Speedway Ready for the Miller Lite 250 | United Speed Alliance Racing and Lake Erie Speedway are ready to host the Miller Lite 250 presented by Stewart Warner Performance Saturday, June 18. The Series returns to the beautiful track located in northwestern Pennsylvania for the second time and no one is looking forward to it more than last years race winner Gary St. Amant. St. Amant collected his first-ever win in the series last year at Lake Erie and is ready to come back and make a bid for two in a row.
``I really enjoy racing at Lake Erie, said St. Amant. ``That track has multiple grooves in it which provides some great racing for the fans.
St. Amant has enjoyed an up and down season so far in 2005 and hopes Lake Erie could help turn his season around. ``We feel like Lake Erie could help give us the boost we need for the team to turn things around for us, added St. Amant. ``Erie will always be a special place for me in my Pro Cup career because I got my first win there but it is special for other reasons as well. When the Series asked me to get more involved in the rookie meeting that started my day off great and we were able to finish the day with a win. That will always be special to me.
St. Amant was making reference to Hooters Pro Cup Series competition director Fritz Augustine asking St. Amant to conduct the rookie drivers meeting since he had prior experience on the track.
Sam Fullone and Glenn Gault are two northern division drivers who could call Lake Erie their home track as they base their respective teams relatively close to the unique 3/8-mile track. Gault and Fullone finished ninth and tenth, respectively, last season.
``I think the fans will be happy they came out for the Pro Cup race, said St. Amant. ``Our Series is known for great side by side racing and Lake Erie is a track we can really race on and they fans should enjoy a great race.
An autograph session for the fans will begin at 6:15 pm and the Miller Lite 250 is scheduled to begin at 7:30 pm. For more information please contact Lake Erie Speedway at 814-725-3303.
