| St. Amant and Bullet Racer Host Youngster at Erie | Media Release
Gary St. Amant and #11 JEGS.com/Bullet Racing Team will be hosting 13-year old open wheel racer, Bret Guzik, at the ProCup event at Lake Erie Speedway.
Guzik, is a 2004 national champion in his QMA Half Midget, from Pottstown, PA.
Bret will get an inside peek at the operations of a high profile stock car team courtesy of one of the country’s most successful drivers. Gary St. Amant has been racing stock cars for over twenty years, spending much of his career in the ASA Series.
During his ASA career, St. Amant collected over 20 wins and two series championships en route to becoming ASA’s career earnings leader.
In 2004, Gary moved to the USAR Hooters Procup Series, and the Bullet Racing Team. In his first year, he captured the Northern Division Rookie of the Year Title, and finished 9th overall in the Series Championship.
During his visit, Bret will have an opportunity to help out in the pits, and hopes to learn more about what it takes to succeed from St. Amant, Team Manager, Bill Harkins, and the rest of the Bullet Racing crew.
Bret has a busy race season of his own planned for 2005, recently capturing a win in his first race of the season, and hopes to defend his QMA national title later this summer. Bret also of late participated in the Red Bull driver search, and completed rookie school in a 600cc Microsprint at Delaware’s Airport Speedway.
Bret hopes his efforts on and off the track will lead to a shot to race stock cars when he gets older. No doubt, this young racer is well on his way to reaching his goal, and his new friends at Bullet Racing will be sure to be watching! Have an opinion on this story?
