| Volusia Speedway Park Announces Fall and Winter Special Events | BARBERVILLE, FL – September 23, 2008 —
All roads lead to the Convention Holiday Classic at Volusia Speedway Park this December. This special 3 night event coincides with the Performance Racing Industry show in Orlando and promises some special “Holiday” fun as well.
Two special events in October and November will provide the opportunity for guaranteed starting positions in the Convention Holiday Classic main events. On October 11, race fans can take in the Full Fender Frenzy at Volusia Speedway Park that offers a special
twist: participants cannot have won a feature event at Volusia Speedway in 2008. This will be an excellent opportunity to see some new faces in Victory Lane.
The October Full Fender Frenzy on October 11 features Late Model, Sportsman, Street Stock and Mini-stock divisions, plus the debut of the V-8 Thunder Stocks at Volusia Speedway. Winners of the Late Model, Sportsman and Street Stock main events will have guaranteed starting positions in the Convention Holiday Classic Main Events.
Adult admission on October 11 is $10; students 11-15 will be admitted for $5, and kids 10 and under are admitted free.
On November 22, Gone Hunting Night will showcase the Late Model, Street Stock, Sportsman, 4-Cyl Pure Stock and Modified divisions. Winners of the Late Model, Street Stock, Sportsman and Modified main events will earn guaranteed starting positions in the Convention Holiday Classic Main Events.
Adult admission on November 22 is $12 but wear your camouflage gear for a $2 discount. Students age 11-15 are admitted for $6 and kids 10 and under will be admitted free.
The Convention Holiday Classic kicks off on Thursday, December 11 with full racing programs for the Street Stock and Sportsman divisions. Sportsman will be racing for a $1000 top prize and the Street Stock winner will take home $500 just in time for Christmas. Modifieds and Late Models are invited to practice on Thursday, December 11. Adult admission is $10.
Night 2 of the Convention Holiday Classic on Friday, December 12 features the Late Models and Open Wheel Modifieds in action. Late Models are racing for a $3000 check for first and the Modifieds will be chasing a $1200 winner’s payout. Full programs for both divisions will be run including heats, B-mains and features. Adult admission is $20.
Look for discount coupons on VSP event tickets throughout October. Admission is $15 with a PRI badge.
The final night of the Convention Holiday Classic on Saturday, December 13, will see the return of Winged Sprint Cars to Volusia Speedway Park. Admission is $15.
Fans can expect some special holiday fun during the Convention Holiday Classic including special visits from Santa Claus.
