150 Laps Of Late Model Racing Coming To Charlotte County Speedway | PUNTA GORDA, Fla. As the 2003 racing season winds down at Charlotte County Speedway, all eyes turn to the grandaddy of them all for Limited Late Models the Brian Davidson Memorial 150.
The race is scheduled for Sunday afternoon, Nov. 30. It's $5,000 to win and $300 to start payout promises to attract the top drivers from across the Sunshine State and parts yonder.
We are talking about names like Steve Dorer, Wayne Morris, Randy Fox, Bobby Beauchemin, Steve Arnold and Mike Hovis, to name a few. Hovis won last years race. Billy Bigley Jr. was in last years race.
Other cars came from as far away as Texas and North Carolina.
The race honors the memory of Brian Davidson, the late son of Charlotte County Speedway owner/promoter LeRoy Davidson. The inaugural Davidson Memorial was back in 1991.
The race will begin at 2 p.m. Nov. 30. Qualifying for the big race will take place the night before, Nov. 29. That Saturday night will also be the final points night of the season for the regular divisions at Charlotte County Speedway.
There will be open practice for Limited Late Models from 5-9:30 p.m. on Friday, Nov. 28.
Fan admission to qualifying night Nov. 29 is $9 for adults. Fan admission to the Davidson Memorial 150 Nov. 30 is $15.
Charlotte County Speedway is located off Exit 161 of I-75 on Piper Road in Punta Gorda.
