Troy Decaire tops Central Florida Wingless Sprint Feature at Orlando SpeedWorld
KARNAC MEDIA

Orlando, FL (April 10, 2009) Easter baskets and bikes were brought by the Central Florida Wingless Sprints for Good Friday at Orlando SpeedWorld. Making kids happy was the name of the game and they did just that Friday night along with some pretty hot racing action.

Sixteen made their way to Orlando SpeedWorld for 30 laps of hot nonwing sprint action. Dakotah Stephens was the big winner of heat 1 with Mark Gimmler taking the win for heat 2.

Dennis Misuraca had the pole for the feature race and quickly jumped to the point on the green followed by Steve Heisler, Troy Decaire, Jimmy Alvis, and Dakotah Stevens. Decaire wasted little time as he passed Heisler for second with Alvis following thru for third, Stevens fourth and Heisler fifth. Misurace tried but just could not hold off the hard charging Decaire as he took over the point followed by Alvis, Stevens, Misuraca, and Heisler.

Mark Gimmler puts pressure on Heisler and takes over fifth as Stephens takes over second with Alvis third. The first caution comes out for Mike Jenkins who is off the track and done for the night. On the restart, Decaire quickly takes the point followed by Stephens, Alvis, Misuraca, and Heisler.

Stephens begins his hunt for first and looks outside and inside but Decaire will have nothing to do with it. Stephens tries again as Decaire shuts the door. It is now Decaire, Stephens, Alvis, Misuraca, Heisler, Gimmler, Steve Bradley, Mike Koss, Traci Decaire, and Frank Hurst.

Hurst brings out the caution as he spins with Gimmler doing a quick pit stop for a flat tire. Twelve cars are left for the restart as Decaire leads the way over Stephens, Alvis, Misuraca, and Heisler.
But the dreaded red flag comes out for a major crash in turn 1 as one car is almost on top of another. Involved was Billy Riddle and Traci Decaire but to everyone's concern, both drivers were fine.

As the cars were towed off the track and the track cleaned, ten cars are left for the restart as Decaire once again leads the way over Stephens, Alvis, Misuraca, and Heisler. Stephens once again puts pressure on Decaire for the lead but Decaire holds his position. Heisler begins to look on Misuraca for fourth but Misurace holds tight and keeps fourth. It is now Decaire, Stephens, Alvis, Misuraca, and Heisler.

Steve Heisler, who was running fifth, brings out the caution on lap 19 as he spins on the frontstretch. Heisler rejoins the field in the rear for the restart as Decaire leads the way over Stephens, Alvis, Misuraca and Steve Bradley. Gimmler looks to pass Bradley but Bradley holds even though he does get alittle squirelly. Gimmler once again looks to pass Bradley as Gimmler goes to the outside, Bradley inside.

Just as it is getting hot and heavy, Steve Heisler spins for the second time in the same spot on the frontstretch bringing out the yellow on lap 25. With 9 cars left, it is Decaire on the point as the green flag waves followed by Stephens, Alvis, Misuraca and Bradley.

A few more laps down in the books and Gimmler takes over fifth as Bradley goes to sixth followed by Heisler, Koss, and Traci Decaire. Decaire takes the checkered for his first feature win at Orlando SpeedWorld for the Central Florida Wingless Sprints followed by Dakotah Stephens, Jimmy Alvis, Dennis Misuraca and Mark Gimmler.

Thanks to the Central Florida Wingless Sprints for all the Easter baskets and bikes they brought for the kids at Orlando SpeedWorld.
