By:Melanie Beckner

Punta Gorda, FL...Joe Winchell clearly had the fastest Late Model in the field of nineteen cars. He set the fast time in qualifying with a lap time of 15.104 and pulled the number 10 pill after qualifyin gputting Travis Hanson on the pole for the 100 lap race.

At the start of the race Travis Hanson jumped to the early lead with Winchell whipping through the field fast. The first caution to come out was on lap eight when David Weaver's car caught on fire in the middle of the infield. Weaver had just pulled of the track a lap prior with what had appeared to be motor problems.

On lap nineteen Winchell had moved to the second position and challenged Hanson for the lead. Winchell was able to clear Hanson for the lead the following lap. The next caution to come out was for Bobby Shelton and Martin Maresca get together in turn one. Both drivers where sent to the rear of the field on the restart of the race. On lap twenty nine Steve Dorer got into the back of Sean Lemasters car, spinning Lemaster out in the back straightaway.

The next incident involved Bobby Shelton and Bob Regula when the two got into one another in turn one. Lap sixty two saw Gary Padula getting into Joe Boyd putting Boyd in the spin cycle in turn four. With eleven laps to go Bob Regula brought out the caution when he spun out in turn one.

On the restart of the race, something happened to Gary Padula's car and caused a jam up in turn one with Steve Grossenbacher spinning out. Joe Winchell cruised to the Late Model victory while Joe Boyd and Steve Dorer had to settle for the second and third positions.

The Hooven brothers went at again in the Bandolero feature. Taylor McFadden started on the pole for the twelve lap race and led the first lap before the Hooven brothers caught up to him. Mark and Shawn Hooven passed the lead back in forth for the remainder of the race, but it would be Mark Hooven taking the victory while Shawn Hooven finished second and Taylor McFadden was third.

The Fab 4's were the next feature race of the evening with Randy LeMaster sitting on the pole. LeMaster led the first four laps until Dan Ohleyer passed him for the lead, however Ohleyer would only lead for two laps. Lap eight seen John Rizzo take lead from Dan Ohleyer and he stayed their until lap ten when Ohleyer took back the lead. On the same lap Heath Bodge hit the turn four wall brining out the first caution.

The final caution came out when Randy Lemaster got into Brent Null sending his car head on into the winner's circle wall. Brent Null walked away from the accident ok and Randy LeMaster was disqualified for rough driving. The final pass for the evening was on lap seventeen when Josh Flesher took the lead from Dan Ohleyer and never looked back to capture his third vicorty. With that win it moves Flesher to the Pro 4 division. Dan Ohleyer was second and Jason Perkins finished third.

Jack Duffy led the TQ Midgets to the start of the twenty lap race. Duffy led the first lap until Michael Belusar passed Duffy for the top spot . The only caution to wave was on lap nine when Jamie Barnum, who was running third spun out in the back straightaway. On the last lap Michael Belusar was still leading when he spun out by himself in turn one. Belusar kept it going, but this handed the lead back to Jack Duffy and Duffy went on for the victory. Jamie Barnum and Ray Smith completed the top three.

The Pro 4's went caution free for their twenty five lap race with Shawn McLaughlin starting on the pole position. Mark Davis led the first twelve laps before the Silver Bullet, driven by Derrick Horton got around Davis for the lead and the win. Mark Davis had to settle for second and John Pummel brought home the third finishing position.

Josh Williams dominated in the twenty five lap Legends race. Mitch Verhaagh led them to the green flag and led the first lap. Lap two saw Devin McLeod challenging Verhaagh for the lead and then taking it from him. McLeod led until Josh Williams rocketed around McLeod on lap fifteen. On the same lap the only caution came out when Conrad Molter spun out in turn four. Josh Williams took home another victory in the Legends Series. Devin Mcleod and Gerald Campbell finished in the second and third spots.

The Fastruck Series were next with Mike Smith pacing the field around for the start of the feature. TJ Duke led the first lap with Mike Smith taking back the lead on lap two. Smith would lead until fast qualifier Josh Williams, fresh from his Legends victory took the led from Smith on lap eleven.

The first caution to wave was on lap fifteen when Steve Irish spun out on the front stretch by himself and Irish spun out again on the restart of the race, this time in turn one. Lap eighteen seen Ricky Partridge losing control of his truck and spinning out turn three. Lap twenty nine had another spin out, this time with Steve Jones and on the restart Michael Wear spinning in turn two.

Blaine Baer was the polesitter for the fifteen lap feature for the Junior's Trim Shop Road Warrior race. Baer took the lead at the start of the race and never looked back. Points leader Chris Loney brought out the first caution on lap four when his car went spinning into turn one and then pulling his car into the pits.

On the next lap Bryan Boxell spun out in the frontstretch bring out the next caution. On lap eighteen Logan Leonard, who was running in the second position broke an axel and it sent him spinning into the infield on the back straightaway.

The final caution to come out was on lap twelve when Bryan Boxell spun out again, this time in turn three. Blaine Baer went on to win his first victory ever at CCMP. Eddie Lawler and Jeff Pacheco crossed the finish line second and third, however both cars were disqualified in tech. Chris Stockton had originally crossed the finish line fifth , but was awarded second and Chris Loney who originally finished ninth was awarded third.

James Dellea brought the Thunder Trucks around for the green flag for there twenty lap race. Dellea led the first three laps before Andy Pryor got around Dellea for the top spot. The only caution to wave was on lap thirteen when Lance Sober sent James Dellea spinning in turn four. Dellea got his spot back while Sober was sent to the rear of the field. Andy Pryor went on to win the race with his father Tom Pryor on his back bumper and finishing the second spot. James Dellea completed the top three.

The last race of the evening was the "Run what you brung and hope you brought enough" Figure Eight race. The only caution came out on lap seven when Derrick Horton and Eddie Lawler where battling for the lead and Lawler sending Horton spinning out in front of the third place car John Rizzo. Rizzo had no where to go and plowed through Horton's car. John Rizzo's car was done but Derrick Horton was able to continue.

On lap nine Derrick Hoton battled Eddie Lawler for the lead and this time Horton sent Lawler spinning and something then broke on Lawler's car ending Lawler's night. Derrick Horton went on to capture his second win of the evening. James Dellea finished second while Chris Huntoon came in third.
