TED HOVERSEN WINS FIRST CHEECA CHALLENGE

Ted Hoversen in the kelly green 5 car posted his second win of the season in the first Cheeca Challenge of 2001. Rookie Bobby McElroy in the 10 car finished a very strong second with Lance Hoversen coming in third. Duane Gilfus in the red 21 car came home in fourth with another rookie CJ Haycraft right on his tail for fifth.

Rounding out the Easter Field were 6th Kelly Curl 25, 7th Dave Cochran 78, 8th rookie Christy Boyett 94, 9th rookie Brandon McElroy 23 10th Heidi Locke 31, 11th Bill Mattress 4, 12th rookie Mark Patten 51, 13th rookie Myk Lauter 57, 14th John Etmanczyk 14, and 15th Phill Brigham.

Heat races were won by John Etmanczyk and CJ Haycraft. Winning the Cheeca Lodge Vacation Prize Package was fan Anne Buono of Wayne NY who picked Ted Hoversen as the winner. Anne will be enjoying a 3 day 2 night stay at the Cheeca Lodge in Islamorada located in the FL Keys.
