GRAND AMERICAN
Robert McCormick took the green and led the first lap of the 20 lap modified feature only to lose it to Kevin Bayless the next lap. Bayless led the next 16 laps when he lost the lead going in to turn one passing a lap car. George Thrift went to the inside of the lap car with Steve Whitener following. Both drivers took over first and second and at the stripe, Bayless had to settle for third. Joseph Jones and McCormick rounded out the top five. Whitener won the heat.
SPORTSMAN
Calvin Pike sat on the pole after an 8 spin inverted the top 8 cars. Pike led 6 laps of the 20 lap Sportsman feature but Randy Clark Sr. took over the top spot to carry the field to the stripe. Bubba Clark, Jimmy Peele, Pike, and James Hanner finished the top five. Rick Hutchinson took the heat win.
PURE STOCK
Brian Smith took the lead of the 15 lap Pure Stock feature on lap 4 from Ronald Broughton. Broughton and Wade Shrowder battled for second with Shrowder crossing the stripe for the position but Broughton won the spot after post race inspection from the track found Shrowder illegal. Ray Pruett moved up to third followed by Dean Bennett and Perry Dowling.
Heats went to Patty Duren and Troy Solomon. First time race winners for both drivers.
LATE MODEL
Michael Murrer and Eric Platt were not happy with one another after they got together coming out of turn 2 and both driver went off the track . Tempers flared, and there was a little bit of confrontation between the drivers even after the race got under way. When the race started, Chuck Chitty took the lead but on the second lap, Platt booted Murrer in the rear causing Murrer to spin. On the restart, Chitty took control again but only to lose it to Joey Miller on lap 10. Miller led the remaining laps to claim his first Late Model win. Alan MacCurrach had his best finish as he crossed the stripe for second. Steve Whitener, Platt and Chitty rounded out the top five. Heat went to Whitener.
POWDER PUFF
Belinda Horton took the lead of the 20 lap Powder Puff feature to lead one lap when Robin Clark passed her for the position. Clark led the next 19 laps for the win. Horton took second followed by Kim Lester, Angela Nolan, Tammy Stone. At the stripe, Nolan protested Lester and Lester counter protested. Nolan was found illegal so all positions moved up and first time driver, Kim Turnbull took fifth. Horton set the fast time of the night with a 23.782.
