Back To Business At Ocala Speedway
by BJ Cavin
ZUBER. FL- After taking some time off in an effort to allow nature to rain itself out, the fans and racers at Ocala Speedway will finally get to continue unfinished business this Friday night, August 21st. Races that were interrupted by steady rains on July 31st will continue where they left off, with hopefully no more interference from the skies.
Armbands and ticket stubs from July 31st will be honored on August 21st ONLY, as will any 50/50 tickets that were purchased on the earlier date. There will be NO rainchecks issued without an armband or ticket stub presented.
Four divisions will be hitting the clay in beautiful downtown Zuber, including the Open Wheel Modifieds, Amsoil V8 Thunder Stocks, and the Gladiators, but the most anticipated race will be the $1000 to win Hobby Stock challenge.
All heat races for the Hobby Stock event were completed on July 31st before the rains came, so the field for that race is locked with 23 cars set to do battle for the cash. The other scheduled divisions are considered open as their heat races were not completed.
The Ocala Speedway pit gate will open at 2PM Friday afternoon and the grandstands will open at 5PM. Practice laps will begin at 7PM with heats scheduled at 8PM. For more info on Ocala Speedway, go to www.OcalaSpeedway.com, or phone the track at 352-622-9400.
