In one of the most exciting races of the year, Ivedent Lloyd won for the second time this month in the United Dirt Late Model Challenge Series.

The race featured over a half dozen lead changes, including a wild back and forth exchange in the last 15 laps of the race between Jason Fitzgerald and Lloyd that had fans on their feet cheering on their favorite.

In the end Lloyd was better able to navigate the lapped traffic and win the #3800 and special guitar trophy in honor of Scott Thompson.

Heats, B-mains and provisionals set starting line-up

The fourth annual event honoring racer Scott Thompson is underway at Volusia Speedway Park. Early morning and noontime rains blew through the area and by late afternoon the weather has become gorgeous, perfect for racing.

In qualifying 34 teams took to the the clay at VSP with Florida's hottest racer this month, Ivedent Lloyd, winning the Ziegler Racing Engines fast time award. His time was 16.776 seconds around the half mile speedway.

After Heat, and B-mains, Kevin Durdin was awarded a provisional from the UDLMCS and Chris Freeman of Enterprise, Fl was awarded a provisional from VSP.

Chuck Julian, Apopka, Florida wrecked during his qualifying run.
