Hills Bros Coffee Break of a Lifetime!

Harrison, NY - Hills Bros. Coffee announced today that it has created a unique program offering an aspiring driver their Coffee Break of a Lifetime.

The program will provide the selected driver with a five-race deal to drive a Busch Series racecar in 2003.

In addition, the driver will have an opportunity to earn a one race Winston Cup ride in 2004 based upon their performance in the five races.

In making the announcement, Phillippe Schaillee, Senior Diretor US Brands for Hills Bros. Coffee stated that the companys goal is to continue the excitement fans have enjoyed by watching unknown drivers make their mark in auto racings big leagues.

This past year we saw many young guns get their big break. As we all know these young drivers ended up thrilling fans with exciting runs and race wins. Schaille added that we feel that there are too many drivers who race weekly on short tracks all across America and neer get their break because sponsors are always looking for known drivers.

A program like this is especially important as the weak economy makes it more difficult for drivers to find new sponsors. To catch a break in todays competitive racing environment often requires rookie drivers to knock on the door of hundreds of companies in an attempt to convince them to take a chance on an unknown.

Hills Bros. Coffee wants to change all of that with a program designed to reach out into grass- roots.

To make this program a reality, Hills Bros. Coffee commissioned a team of experts lead by Randy LaJoie, 2-time Busch Series Champion, to look for a driver. The search focused on drivers from the many touring and weekly racing series that are held across the United States. After an extensive search, the panel of experts selected David Reutimann to earn the Hills Bros. Coffee Break of a Lifetime for 2003. David was selected because he best represented what the program is intended to do and give someone a big break stated LaJoie. We quickly determined that David has a lot of talent when we looked at the fact that he finished second in the All-Pro Series with an unbelievably low budget operation. He is really a throw-back to the old days when you built the car, towed the car, fixed the car and raced the car added the 2-time Busch Series champion.

Reutimann has selected to race Chevrolets out of the NEMCO Race Shop. The car will bear the number 88. Brian Pattie will be his crew chief. To thank Joe Nemechek for supplying the cars and Randy LaJoie for leading the selection process, Hills Bros. will provide Associate Sponsorship funding on both drivers Busch Series cars.

To give David additional incentive, Hills Bros. will reward him with a one-race start in a Hills Bros. Winston Cup car at a selected race in 2004 if David scores more points in his 5 races than Randy LaJoie and scores at least 3 Top-Five finishes. The five-race schedule will consist of starts in Busch Series races at Texas (March 29), California (Apirl 26), Milwaukee (June 29), Chicago (July 12), and Michigan (August 16).

Hills Bros. Coffee is a brand of Sara Lee Coffee and Tea Consumer Brands. Hills Bros. Coffee is available in Mild, Regular, and Dark Roast flavors as well as 100% Columbia, French Roast, Decaffeinated and Perfect Balance (l/2 Caffeine).
